Time for A Cocktail
// March 16th, 2009 // Asheville Perfect Weekend
Time to sample the plethora and variety of local brew. Look no further for your nightlife/bar options. Asheville boasts at least seven breweries with more being added all the time (look for Craggie Brewing to open this summer). Some suggested stops would be The Wedge Brewery and Asheville Pizza & Brewing.
Info: The Wedge Brewery / 125B Roberts St. / 828-505-2792 * Asheville Pizza & Brewing / 77 Coxe Ave. / 828-255-4077 * Craggie Brewing / www.craggiebrewingco.com

My favorite is the Wedge-best place to sit outside and drink a beer-the place gets full sun in the afternoon. I like their Ale.
Looking forward to drinking some new local beer at Craggie
A story to relate…
My wife and I were sitting at the Wedge one night just before closing time and the LaZoom bus pulls up loaded with people. The Wedge was supposed to close at 11 pm that night but decided to stay open to offer it’s brew to the LaZoom crowd. The bar was packed, the beer was flowing and the details of the rest of the evening can’t be written here. It was one of our most memorable nights in Asheville.
Beer drinkers also need to check out: Bier Garden, Jack of the Wood - Green Man Ales, French Broad Brewery, Highland Brewing, and Pisgah. No, I really don’t like beer.
