Mountain Biking At Lake James

Mountain Biking At Lake James (Paddy’s Creek Bike Trails): Taking a mountain bike ride on the extensive trail system at Lake James State Park is a great way to enjoy the outdoors at your own pace.  Around 15 miles of singletrack mountain bike trails are now open at the nearby Paddy’s Creek Area on Lake James, which encompasses more than 30 miles of shoreline on the 6,812-acre lake.  Venture out to the Tindo Loops for beginners and Wimba Loops for more of an adventure challenge. All in all, the Lake James Mountain Biking trails offer a fast and flowing trail riding experience that is sure to put a smile on your face whether you’re an experienced mountain biker or someone just getting into trail riding.

The contoured berms and gentle up and down make this a type of riding that never seems to offer long, sustained climbs, but instead short and fast uphills with a fun and flowing descent sure to follow once you hit the crest.

Find updated information on trail closures, maps and more at Lake James State Park through the NC State Park’s website.
