Pulliam Creek Hiking Trail

Just on the outskirts of Hendersonville lies the rugged and lesser known Green River Gamelands. This 10,000 acre tract of land has a primary purpose of wildlife conservation and management, and it’s also home to the well know Green River – which is a favorite playground among kayakers, tubers, and other boaters. The Pulliam Creek Trail is a 6 1/2 miles round trip out-and-back, with the turning point at the river. If you’re interested in a more adventurous side jaunt, at about 1 1/4 miles in you’ll see a trail that takes off straight down the mountain to the right – and it spits you out at the infamous Green River Narrows. This portion can be treacherous, so be super careful!

Directions: Take I-26 E to Hendersonville – then take Exit 53 for Upward Road. Make a left on Upward Road and follow for about 2 miles to Big Hungry Road on the right. Continue on Big Hungry Road for about 3 miles (you’ll actually have to take a right to continue on Big Hungry at one intersection) and look for a trail head sign for Pulliam Creek Trail on the right. If you cross a bridge, you’ve gone just past it.
