The "Santee Boulders " are within east Elliott owned by the city of San Diego. It was Camp Elliott Marine Corps base during WW2. This area within camp Elliott was used for tank training and many of the boulders were used as targets.

Boulders were challenging, but not impossible. Holds were kind of tough, but an experienced climber should not have any problems. Many rocks that are easy to learn or have easy paths. I have never climbed before in my life, but after a few minutes I was able to climb a few. Attached are some photos that I took when on an outdoor climbing photoshoot I got booked for this past weekend.

A fantastic spot for climbing and exploration with easy access—just park across the street and take a short walk in. The scenery is stunning, featuring numerous large granite boulders scattered throughout the area. While many of the boulders are too slick for climbing, there are others that offer a range of difficulties for bouldering, and it even looks like there are some opportunities for lead climbing.

A beautiful and epic location for family or maternity photo sessions for the San Diego area. Especially if you want train tossing images or other iconic wind-esc photos you want printed on 20 by 30.
