Well, if you're going to run out of fuel along the blue ridge parkway, this is the place to do it. We weren't even mad. As we waited for our buddy to return with gas we got to enjoy the sunset over the mountains. Couldn't ask for a better view.

Beautiful. If you are lucky enough to catch the right light before they close the Parkway, I suggest a slow easy drive......

Wow! Now this was a supremely gorgeous view of the Blue Ridge. The only thing that aggravates me is that not one of my pictures captures the true beauty that I saw. I guess, that is a good thing. Stunning view. You just find yourself looking and looking, like you can't take it all in or process what you are seeing.

Good place to go for a bike ride. For a good gravel grind climbing up from Old fort via Curtis Creek road is fun. If mountain biking you can start from Old fort and climb to the parkway via heartbreak ridge, or via Old Mitchell Toll road. And have a killer decent down heartbreak to end your ride
