Looking Glass Rock Boulders

Looking Glass Boulders (Brevard)

North Side Boulders At Looking Glass Rock: Tucked away beneath the 500-foot-tall North Face of Looking Glass Rock are a handful of classic boulder problems well worth a visit. Thanks to the blocky granite of Looking Glass, the boulders have a unique style unlike most other areas in WNC.  Classic climbs can be found in the V2 to V8+ range with a good selection of moderates that offer plenty of options to keep most boulderers busy for a few sessions as they work out the moves on the unique granite blocks found below Looking Glass Rock.

Directions from Pisgah Forest: Follow directions to Looking Glass Rock and park at the North Face parking area. The boulders are located 1/4 mile before the base of the cliff on both sides of the trail.

“What I like the most about Looking Glass bouldering is just how serene it is and how quiet it is,” says Travis Gray. “You can be out there by yourself and not hear a soul. I think it is good for people to have that type of place – somewhere to escape to. It’s just majestic. The boulders are in the shadow of the North Side and it just towers above you when you are out there. It’s a great spot to go hang out with friends and climb. It’s just a great environment.”
