Ridgeline Mountain Biking Trail: This incredible trail is as close to riding a roller coaster on two wheels as you can get! Start at Lake Imaging Parking area in Dupont State Forest and head through the gate up the forest road. Take the second left up Jim Branch Trail and get your game face on! The first 100 feet of steep rock-tech packs a full punch. Now that you’re warmed up, continue climbing the more gradual ascent. At the top take a right out Isaac Heath contouring along pine forests and flowing fast trail. Stay right onto Locust up a short climb, then rip back down and veer right onto Lake Imaging Road to a quick left out Hilltop Trail. A short climb puts you at the top of a super fun descent packed with tight turns and epic singletrack. Take a right onto Lake Imaging Road and then an immediate left onto Buck Forest Rd. Follow the gravel out 1.5 miles and take a left on Hickory Mt Road towards the top of Ridgeline. Once at the top, take a left onto Ridgeline, possibly the best descent in Dupont State Forest! This flow trail rips. Extra Credit: At the top of Ridgeline take the Hickory Mountain Loop, a 1.1 mile loop that climbs up to the top of Hickory Mountain and descends down some of the best singletrack around. The loop is a blast both ways and well worth the extra effort. Loop it clockwise and continue straight into Ridgeline for the ultimate Dupont Descent!
Directions from Brevard: Head south out of Pisgah Forest on US 64 toward Hendersonville for 3.7 miles and turn right on Crab Creek Road. After 4.2 miles, turn right onto Staton Road and continue to the Lake Imaging parking area on the left. Water and bathrooms are 1/2 mile further at the High Falls Parking Area on the left. Nearby Hooker Falls makes a great post-ride swimming spot.
