Laurel Mountain Dog Friendly Trail

Laurel Mountain Dog-Friendly Trail: Laurel Mountain Trail is for those that like a hike with higher mileage and a steep climb, and have a way to leave a car at one end. Leave a car at the Pisgah Inn off the Blue Ridge Parkway, and begin off of Yellow Gap Road in the North Mills River access area. This trail will lead you approximately 7.5 miles back to the Pisgah Inn. When you approach the Parkway, you will have to take a left on the Mountains to Sea trail to finish the short distance to the Inn. Refuel with a tasty meal at the Pisgah Inn if you can! Of, if you prefer the downhill version, then start at the Pisgah Inn and hike it down.

Directions From Brevard: Take NC 280 towards Mills River, and make a left at the stoplight just before Ingles onto North Mills River Road. Follow the signs to the North Mills River Campground, and continue on the gravel. The parking for the Laurel Mountain trailhead is about 3.5 miles past the campground.
