Paddling Adventures

Lake Julian Paddling & Disc Golf

The tranquil and clear waters of Lake Julian with the Blue Ridge Mountains beyond make an excellent paddling location for those looking to get out for some flatwater exercise. The Asheville Rowing Club makes use of the lake and their members can frequently be seen gliding across the smooth waters with the Blue Ridge mountains rising above.  For those looking to venture out on their own, we recommend bringing a canoe, kayak or paddleboard to explore the lake. There is also a small section of greenway now connecting several fishing piers as well for those who prefer to stay onshore.

Head to the southern park location off of US 25 (Hendersonville Road) to access a large picnic pavilion, picnic tables and the fun and popular Lake Julian Disc Golf Course.

Directions from Asheville: Head South on Hendersonville Road and take a right on Long Shoals Road. Lake Julian Park is on the left.  The disc golf course is located off of Hendersonville Rd on the right about 1/2 mile south of Long Shoals Road. We recommend hooking up with Asheville Adventure Rentals for any of your outdoor adventure needs.
