Adult ski lessons at Northstar require careful planning to avoid common pitfalls. The base lesson cost of $300+ does not include essential gear, gondola access, or equipment rental, and staying at the Northstar lodge doesn't usually provide any discounts
Key considerations:
• Allow extensive time for equipment pickup - 30 minutes is insufficient. You might end up with some of those Northstar or ritz Carlton visitors in front of you trying to be picky about everything
• Bring your own winter gear (goggles, pants, gloves) and UV protection
• Limited bathroom access in the lesson area! I literally ended up throwing up almost at the face of the employee who kept denying me access to the bathroom since “it is against our policy for the visitors to use it”
• Complimentary water is provided, but stay hydrated
• Avoid skiing at sunset during melting conditions
• Book gondola tickets with lessons online for better rates
Also: make sure you have tips$ with you. I am sure those hardworking employees getting just a small fraction of what we pay online to the corporation

We only visited and did ice skating. It was great, you $23 ice skate rental is for the whole day from 2-9pm. There was a live band, and lots of fireplaces where you can sit and drink.

We stay here during the summer for just under a week. It is a very nice location and overall a nice place to stay. The resort has a nice pool area and a couple of other spa locations, an activity room for the kids, and a lodge area with a ping pong table and foosball table. There is a small "village" area with a few shops, restaurants, a roller rink, and they even used to have a putt putt course (that seems to be gone now). Unfortunately, likely due to the significantly lower occupancy compared to winter/ski season, most places are closed. Rubicon pizza in the village is decent and a nice ambience in the summer evening. The rooms are stocked with the basics, so any gourmet chefs needing specific cookware may need to bring their own items. The rooms have gas fire places which are nice. The service is always pleasant and accommodating. There is a parking garage underneath the facility which has not posed any problems for us. The location is also great. Tahoe is only 15 minutes away, and the scenery all around is great. We even took a half day trip to bring the kids to Circus Circus in Reno. So if you're looking for a quiet, nice place to stay during the summer, you can consider this place worth it.

I recently stayed at the Hyatt Vacation Club Northstar Lodge, and it was an incredible experience! The multi-bedroom villas are spacious, beautifully designed, and perfect for a family or group getaway. The location is fantastic—right in the heart of a beautiful area with stunning mountain views. There’s a charming shopping center nearby, full of cute shops and great places to grab a bite to eat. It really adds to the overall ambiance of the area.
The only minor downside was the parking situation. It can be a bit tight and limited at times, but it’s a small inconvenience compared to everything else this place offers. Overall, I highly recommend Northstar Lodge for anyone looking for a luxurious and relaxing vacation spot in a picturesque setting!

We went during Thanksgiving break. There were a lot of people skiing/snowboarding, and apparently many tend to prefer harder slopes so there shouldn't be too many people at the bunny hills if you visit(unless there are too many people in general)
The skiing view is kind of amazing. You can see a lot from on top of the mountain and it snows occasionally, has nice winter scenery
However don't expect the cheapest prices here. The oatmilk lavender latte at Copper Lane Cafe costs almost $7 for example, and one jacket at The North Face costs $190. If you buy all your ski equipment here expect to pay quite a bit
