We are from Northern Iowa and ended up camping in Maquoketa over the weekend. We found this place because we enjoy seeing new territory. This area had a wide variety of terrain and skill levels. This place is a beautiful resource for the hiker or outdoor enthusiast. I would have rated it higher except for the signage on trail could be marked better especially when going from mowed trail to game trail types. We will return someday to explore what we missed this time. Great gift from the family that donated the land!!

Fantastic nature area, tucked away in Maquoketa. Beautiful trails and nice pavilion/gathering area. Be aware that the trail map and the actual trails don't always match. Some dead end and not all area are accessible. Still miles of trails of varying degrees of difficulty, all on grass. Favorite place to take the dog for a good walk/hike.

Used to hike around this area back in the seventies, glad to see it's kept up and preserved.
