We loved going here! The bonus was that Kings Mountain is both a State Park and has a National battlefield. So for those that use the Passport book and State books you get double stamps! We hiked a trail on the state park side to the homestead. Well maintained and scenic. We also loved the battlefield and the visitor center.

Super beautiful and peaceful State Park. Located adjacent to the National Park for Kings Mountain Battlefield. Lovely short drive or nice long hike between the two parks. Very educational as well and seems to be popular camping area. We did not camp there but did a nice 1.5 mile hike from the visitor center to the historical farm area.

Very nice State Park. Large campground has dirt roads with large gravel sites. The large gravel can be uncomfortable to walk on in places. There are two small lakes with a spillway that is good for kayaking. Some fishing was observed... no catching. No swimming area. Several trails for hiking. We walked the two short ones and had good experiences. Very nice farm available to visit inside the park with mules, horses and donkeys. Some were sociable and would let you pet them. The Kings Mountain Military Park is just down the road and well worth visiting. Would love to return to this park later in the fall. The leaves turning should be great.

Great place to get away from it all , and its only around an hour from Charlotte suburbs. We did some easy trails and found the lake. Folks having fun in canoes and kayaks. So much to see we’ll be coming back again and again!

Beautiful park. Facilities were seemingly abandoned/not well maintained this visit i.e huge wasp next above the bathroom door, broken glass window all around the grounds around one of the living history cabins. Also PSA for those unaware, Kings Mountain is home to the timber rattler...my toddler came across one when we were exploring the living history farm.
