Been here for about 5 years. They’ve increased the price of membership a few times, and recently reduced guest pass benefits from two guest passes for any person, to only using one guest pass per unique person every 30 days. A bit misleading, but the effect was supposed to take place after August 1st, 2024, but since my guest had already gone within 30 days, (although it was before August 1st, 2024.), we weren’t able to use a guest pass. The parking is pretty terrible. The good things about the gym are the staff, new boards, improved setting, and spray wall. However, we will be moving to edgeworks.

The gym is excellent but they are making it prohibitively expensive. Prices have increased around 20% in 2 years. They have kept it the same for existing members on the yearly plan at least. They have also added wierd arbitrary constrains to the guest passes. Be sure you understand them before bringing a friend. With the large cafe, sauna, gym, and quiet areas the gym has become a kind of 3rd place for me. I spend a lot of time here. But the pricing decisions have left a bad taste and I am looking for other gyms now.

Used to climb here all the time. Memberships and day passes and everything are all just unbelievably expensive. Just a place for rich tech bros to hang out at this point and hipsters whose parents have paid for their rent since they left the house. A lot of people also just treat this place like a fun date night place rather than a gym. And for members all the stupid events that have no place at a space intended for progressing your physical ability make SBP feel more like a theme park than a gym. And it’s honestly priced like a theme park.

Facilities are good but they keep upping the prices and now have made it so guest passes come with the caveat that even though you have 2 of them, they control how you use them. You can’t bring the same person within 30 days, so even if you pay new dues for a new month you can’t bring the same person you did last month if it hasn’t been 30 days.

I love SBP. But for the love of god, please stop changing policies and price hiking with zero to little notice. $15 a month increase, and a policy change on guest passes only being able to be used by one person every 30 days is actually ridiculous and anti consumer. Gyms are busier than ever, and day pass price increase should be helping with bottom line. Since I joined 9 months ago I have not once felt valued as a member, and these changes have made me sour so bad on what was such an exciting community to join. The SECOND they increase gym prices again without notice I will be bringing my business to another local gym where I feel valued.
