El Capitan….. it’s big, it’s bold, it’s magical and it’s a world famous huge granite vertical face that crazy rock climbers seem to like to climb.
This is a special piece of rock that just has to be seen and marvelled at.
I once spent an evening with Andy Kirkpatrick a world famous climber who’s scaled El Cap over 30 times and his stories of tackling this beast have stayed with me for years. This made my visit to see El Capitan even more special.
Go see this mammoth granite monolith…. It’s amazing and you’ll also see its partner Half Dome sitting a little further down the Valley.

A climber's dream. Just to gaze upon it makes you feel so small. One of the largest vertical drop in the world. And the easiest accessible one! Don't go so close to the nose without a helmet!
