Easy walk on gravel path around the lake with several small streams to cross over on a walk bridge. From here you can make the hike up the Rich Mountain Trail if you’re feeling energetic. Want to know a secret about Trout Lake? There aren’t any trout in it. They quit stocking it over 10 years ago.

A quiet and peaceful place, with a trail around the lake (part of which is a paved driveway to the horse trailer parking lot), and connection to the Mountains-to-Sea Trail and Moses Cone carriage trails.

Small lake, limited fishing access. Gravel trail circles the lake, horse trails nearby, and a 4 mile hike to rich mountain.
