Adventure Guide to Hiking the Lost Valley Trail
Eden Falls and Eden Falls Cave
About halfway along the trail, you’ll encounter Eden Falls, a stunning 53-foot waterfall that cascades beautifully into an emerald pool below, especially after rainfall. Just past the waterfall, you'll find Eden Falls Cave, a small but fascinating cave ideal for careful exploration. Be sure to bring a flashlight or headlamp; the cave leads to an extraordinary underground waterfall.
Natural Bridge
A unique feature along the trail is the Natural Bridge, a rock formation shaped like an arch. It’s a reminder of the natural forces at work over millennia and an excellent spot for photography or taking a quiet pause to enjoy the surroundings.
Clark Creek Surroundings
The entirety of the trail parallels Clark Creek, a babbling stream that enhances the tranquil atmosphere. During wetter months, the creek swells, creating an even more enchanting landscape. Kids love hopping across the steppingstones and splashing in shallow pools.

The trail lies within the Buffalo National River area, one of America’s first national rivers. This region’s history dates back to early settlers, and remnants like old rock shelters add a layer of intrigue for visitors.
Locals advise visiting the trail during the spring for vibrant wildflowers or after rainfall when waterfalls are at their fullest.

Absolutely beautiful hike! This trail is gorgeous! We loved the caves and waterfalls, pictures can't do them justice. I would highly recommend this trail. I would also recommend taking a picture of the map so you know how far in to keep going, as we almost stopped at the first waterfall before we knew the trail went further in to more. Thankfully we had a picture of the map and realized there was more to be seen.
There are some steep and slippery areas the further you go, so use caution. Also the trail did have a fair amount of other hikers present because it was one of the first nice days this Spring.

I drove 3 hours and felt it was worth it. First there in morning. It was so quiet the quiet was loud. The water, the geology and cave was awesome. I took my time to enjoy it and spent 3.5 hours. Take a bright light, knee pads and water

We had a great experience hiking the trail, cave, and surrounding area. The sun went down sooner than expected behind the mountain side. I recommend bringing a flashlight for the cave. :)
