Nice recreation area. Wish the water was a bit higher, but definitely better than it was. Great place! Everyone should visit

Very interesting to see lake mead in person. It's been in the news the past few years because of how low the water has gotten and it's still low. The lake stinks. According to google it's some sort of water algae. Went to the swimming beach and the water was chilly but clear! The "beach" area is very rocky and there were people fishing ans swimming. Drive thru the park and pulled off at some scenic overlooks. It was pretty but not a lot to do if you're just passing thru. The camping area looked nice. There were several boats on the lake but overall it wasnt very crowded. I'd recommend if you're in the area or close by.

Lake Mead National Recreation Area is a stunning spot for cyclists looking for long, scenic rides. 🚴‍♂️ The roads wind through beautiful desert landscapes with plenty of rolling hills to keep things interesting. 🌵 Traffic is generally light, making it a peaceful place to rack up some miles. The only downside is the occasional rough pavement in certain areas, but the views and wide-open spaces more than make up for it. 🏞️ Definitely worth the ride if you’re in the area!

We always stay here going to our winter home. Again on our way back in the spring. Beautiful scenery and wildlife.

Beautiful lake worth visiting along with Hoover Dam. There is $15 entry fee. If you just want to take pictures on the way to the dam, there is a beautiful viewing area if you pass the entrance towards the dam. If temperatures are above 105 then probably not worth paying the fee because will be too hot to get out of the car.
