We came here for the winter lights and we're not disappointed! The peppermint and marshmallow hot cocoa kept a warm on a 20° night and it was well spaced out so it did not feel crowded or overwhelming. We like the musical quilt lights but wish there were more Christmas carols!

This place is so cool. The 360° view is so wonderful. The bonsai exhibit was excellent and they have the coolest model train sets going around an awesome setup. So many different options for trails, paths and scenery make it a great stop.

What a beautiful place to experience! We visited since they participate in the NC Zoo reciprocity program - the parking, while normally $20 per car, was free using our membership. Parking was easy and plentiful. We didn't really have a plan here but to roam free. The bonsai gardens were so cool. Per the time sign for the railroad display, I believe the train should have been going.. it wasn't but it still looked pretty cool. We spent most of the time on the nature trail and branching off here and there. We even visited the education center where they have restrooms and a bistro. The couple hours we were there we got to explore a lot of the gardens and even the little greenhouse. We definitely need to come back as there's so much we didn't even get to see.

We visited yesterday by day and again tonight for the winter lights event. The arboretum is well laid out and has a bonsai collection not to be missed. Winter lights is fun for the whole family! Priced per vehicle vs per person which is great for families.

I try to go every year around the holidays to see the gardens lite up by these talande and creative people! I was wondering how this year would look after Helene. They had knocked it out of the park despite not being able to work on the lights for weeks! Thank you NC Arboretum team!
