Me and my wife love it here. Decided to kayak to the small falls for our first time kayaking this lake. The sights did not disappoint. There are so many spots to pull off and spend the day with a picnic or a swim. Will be coming back to try kayaking to one of the other waterfalls.

Rented paddle boards for the day and had an amazing time. Restrooms were clean. The gift shop had everything we needed at bizarrely affordable prices! Very thankful for not being price gouged and because of that I bought a lot of stuff from coffee and ice cream to goggles and stuffed animals. We donated some books to the tiny library there as well. As for Lake Jocassee, I simply love the view of overlapping mountains surrounding a crystal clear lake. The water felt spectacular. We could see all the way to the bottom and watch fish swimming around. Lots of little coves and beaches to explore even without a boat. Best of all was jumping off a large rock and watching other visitors work up the courage to take the leap as well. I got some GREAT pictures from that!

One of my favorite places! It's stunningly beautiful. I've stayed in the boat-in campsites as well as the villas. The boat-in sites are great. Be prepared for a ~30 min kayak trip each way, so don't forget anything! The sites are very nice, and some have easier access than others. The compost toilets are what they are. The lighting is dim so I recommend bringing a headlamp so your hands are free. Be prepared for water levels to fluctuate dramatically. Once the lake came up several feet overnight and a number of kayaks and boats drifted away. The villas are fantastic! We stayed in Villas 8, 9 and 10. The views are great, and there's a nice cove with a steep trail to put in kayaks or anchor boats. The villas are well-furnished, well-built, attractive and clean. We were all so impressed and just loved our family stay in the villas. Devil's Fork is a special park and I recommend a visit. The water is chilly year-round so bring something to warm up with. Come see the waterfalls and breathtaking beauty!
