Fabulous hike with great fall color views of Acadia National Park and Sand Beach of Bar Harbor. Good hiking shoes is important on this hike, with narrow trail requiring climbing in certain portions. There is an easier/longer way up to the summit if you take left from trailhead.

Fantastic!! 10 out of 5... we went in peak fall colors, perfect temperatures, and were really happy with the trail. It's not terribly difficult, but hard enough to make it feel like you did something.

Best spot to see the foliage. It took us more than an hour to climb but we were fortunate to witness the sunset here. A must-do hike but should be done early morning when there is less crowd.

Challenging but rewarding hike with breathtaking views! The Beehive Trail in Acadia National Park is not for the faint of heart, but it’s absolutely worth the effort if you’re up for a challenge! The trail is short but steep, with some exposed sections that involve scrambling over rocks and using iron rungs to help you climb. 🧗‍♂️ Despite its difficulty, the views from the top are incredible. Once you reach the summit, you’re rewarded with panoramic views of Sand Beach, Echo Lake, and the surrounding mountains—absolutely stunning! 🌄 The trail is well-marked, but I recommend wearing sturdy shoes with good grip, as some sections can be slippery. If you’re an experienced hiker looking for an adrenaline-pumping adventure with spectacular rewards, the Beehive Trail is a must-do! Just be sure to take your time, especially on the rocky sections. Highly recommend it for those seeking an exciting and scenic experience!

Go early if you’re not experienced with heights. This was my first experience on a trail like this one. I felt very confident most of the hike until the very last couple sections to the top. My mind took over a little and I started to panic. We were stuck right on an edge waiting for people above us. It’s much better if you can just keep moving. Of course that all depends on how busy the trail is. So again, if you’re new, I HIGHLY recommend going before 8 am so you can take your time and not feel rushed by the lines. Other than that, I would say that I probably wouldn’t do this hike alone. I’m 5’5 and had some issues with some of the steps going up. My boyfriend had to help me a lot but it is still manageable.
