Very enjoyable short hike to a ridiculous elevation of 11,943 ft. Luckily, there is minimum exposure along the way and at the top, so this would be a good hike for most anyone. Most of the trail was quite rocky, and at times I felt like I was climbing steps. The rocks were mostly fixed in place and had good grip. There are actually some well-placed rocks near the top that actually do form steps. I was lucky to meet a couple at the top who encouraged me to stay until the sun went down and to watch the sunset. I was very happy I stayed. Overall, this was an excellent hike with awesome views in all directions.

I love this area for its solitude and cool weather during the summer. There are plenty of places to hike and fish. Our dogs love the open areas, too. Please pack it in and pack it out, leave the place better than you found it. This is moose and bear country, so be aware of your surroundings and food storage.

Definitely one of the "best bang fir your buck" hike in the Uintas. 1,000ft of elevation in 1.5 miles up to one of the greatest views in the range is most definitely worth it. Black Rosy Finches about halfway up were the main goal, but the scramble up at the top was also fun.

This hike was recommended to me by a coworker. We left late in the day and experienced the sunset on the peak. Incredible views of so many lakes and mountain peaks. Hike is short by very steep. We did it fairly quickly but we were experienced. I feel like most people could make this hike if you just take it slow and rest. It's only 1.5 miles but 1,000 feet of elevation gain. So worth it.

I wasn't expecting huge things from this hike, for this mountain from the distance doesn't look all that exciting, but it was super interesting. (That means a lot from me for I hike a lot.) The trail was just so interesting all the way up The views of all the lakes going up was neat ( I think there was 20 lakes I counted ) The top was different than I expected and the views from the top were spectacular. I did a 360 path for google maps/Earth/blog of the trail. You can see it by going to Google Earth, search Bald Mountain, click on the little dude, and then click on any blue section you want to see. #best_hikes_in_utah #letsguide
