If you love to nerd out in history, this is a place for you.
The reenacting was great. They really get into the character they are portraying. They even get you involved. My spouse is a huge history nerd, but learned a thing or two on this trip.
After the trip on the ship, you can then purchase a cup to taste all the tea. They are very interesting.
I truly enjoyed this visit and highly recommend it if you are close by.

I was suspicious about the high price, but decided to give it a chance as this came highly recommended as a historical demonstration. And I can happily report it was well worth it! I can hardly think of a better way to learn about the Tea Party; this tour basically has you pretend it's the 1770's in Boston and you're part of the mob that dumped tea into the harbor (don't worry, it's done in an environmentally friendly way!) while cheering on colonial resistance. You are led by costumed actors who don't break character throughout the tour but are also happy to answer questions (again pretending it's 1773!) that tour goers have. Afterwards you get a brief run through of a series of historical exhibits, including the only surviving chest of tea from the actual Tea Party. And after (or before) the tour (it lasts about an hour) you can have refreshments at a tea shop in the same building that serves among other things the historical teas available in 1774.
A few things to note: you are unlikely to be able to buy tickets at the gate because of how popular the tour is, so buy them ahead of time online. And realize that you NEED to show up FIFTEEN minutes before your tour starts, because you go through an orientation. Confusing, yes, but that's how they do it. Finally, you're not allowed to take pictures of things inside the museum building, although you can do so while on the pretend ship.
Definitely make time for this if you're in Boston and love history!

A great experience and definitely recommend! You arrive 15 minutes early and you can check out the gift shop and surrounding area. They check you in and you go straight into this sitting area where they give you a character card and you get to watch and interact with the folks dressed in character. They stay in character as they bring you around the boat, throw tea over the boat, go inside and through the museum, watch a short film, etc. It was fun, fast paced, and well worth the price.

Had an excellent experience here today that was beyond what you may expect, it was beyond my expectations! The cashier for tickets was very friendly and explained how to start. Going in the door there was immediately a guy dressed to fit the times who was polite and opened the door. A lady dressed as a colonial woman then came around to each person and introduced herself and gave us all an identity to play a role in the tour which was very neat! It starts from the beginning with the concept of why and how this happened and you go to boat and can even throw “tea” in the harbor! The exhibit was very cool and they have the only crate known in existence you can see in there and a bottle someone saved some tea from this evening the tea was dumped! It was mind blowing and humbling. During the tour a video played that gave goosebumps of how the tea party led to the revolutionary war! Very fun, engaging, intuitive and educational! This is a must DO! Check this out when you are in Boston and the gift shop has a TON of gifts!
