I've been to Maranatha Beach Camp a couple of times and it is a perfect place of escape from the capital Accra. Very serene place where nature lovers would appreciate Nature. It's safe, affordable. It's location is just breath taking, behind it is the Atlantic ocean and Infront of it is the River Volta and about 2 minutes walk is the estuary where the ocean meets the river. Swimming in the ocean is not advised, it's not safe and it's not clean, rather you'd swim in the river which is super clean and safer. You don't need to drive there, you can go by public transport. Also, plan well enough and you'd really enjoy your stay.

The location of Maranatha Beach Camp is exceptional: right on a beautiful river beach where you can swim safely. The fishing community right next to you. Early in the morning many boats leave fir the sea, and we also saw net fishing from the Ocean beach. We made a lovely boat trip to the other side of the Volta river. Our hut with washroom was basic, but had toilet and shower, as well as a fan. The simple outdoor restaurant is cozy and serves good food. The young people who run it are really friendly. Highly recomended!
