The road to Sandia Crest is closed at MP11. It will remain closed until Jan 15, 2027. There is a parking lot and restrooms at mile post 11.

Had a great time on a cross country trip. Stopped in to do some dispersed camping. I had to check the signs and figure out where it was allowed. The posted map was difficult to read by found the spur on the trail where I could car camp. The trail was clearly marked and well appointed campsites with fire rings available but there were fire restrictions in place during my visit. Trails were easily accessible in my large van, but 4 wheel drive and high clearance his highly recommended.
