Exploring Areni-1 Cave: A Window into Ancient History

This early copper era cave is a must see in Armenia. Archologists found three individuals that lived in in the Chalcolithic Era (about 4,000BCE), the earliest known shoe (although we found only one) and the earliest know winery in the cave. Interestingly enough, archologists believe that wine was for religious cemetery instead of day-to-day human consumption.

We were in the company of friends on an excursion at Arpine, it was just a wonderful excursion, as much as a wonderful guide, it was a wonderful excursion. Yes this is a very important archaeological site. No, there is not much to see really. Worth a stop, not sure it is worth the ticket price unless you are an archaeologist
