For thrill-seekers and nature lovers alike, rafting the Pigeon River offers the perfect mix of excitement and scenic beauty. Located just 50 minutes from Asheville in the heart of the Smoky Mountains, this dynamic river boasts two distinct sections that cater to adventurers of all skill levels. Whether you’re conquering the exhilarating rapids of the Upper Pigeon or enjoying the calm waters of the Lower Pigeon, this river promises an unforgettable day on the water.

The Upper Pigeon River is the adrenaline hub, with five miles of continuous Class III-IV rapids like Powerhouse, Roller Coaster, and Lost Guide. These splashy waves and heart-pounding drops make it a favorite for experienced rafters and adventurous first-timers. For families or those seeking a more relaxed outing, the Lower Pigeon offers a gentler five-mile float with scenic views, wildlife spotting, and easy Class I-II rapids perfect for younger adventurers.

I'm getting CBD oil spam at the email address I only gave to them. They must have sold my personal info or had it stolen from them.

I really feel like 5 stars isn’t enough. I would 10/10 recommend this. We did the lower river which worked great for us. Grayson was our guide and did an unbelievable job. We can’t wait to go back and do it again. The lower had a few mediums size rapids which made it fun and not just a float down the river.
