About This Adventure Destination

Agh Gol National Park, located near Eyvazallar in Azerbaijan’s Karabakh region, offers a unique natural refuge amid a largely dry landscape. Famous for its expansive wetland ecosystem, the park covers an area around Lake Agh Gol, one of the largest freshwater lakes in the area. This protected zone provides a crucial habitat for hundreds of bird species, including both migratory and resident populations, making it an outstanding destination for wildlife lovers and birdwatchers.

The lake’s calm waters and the surrounding reed beds create an ideal environment where species like pelicans, egrets, ducks, and herons gather, especially during seasonal migrations in spring and autumn. Additionally, the park supports rare fish and amphibians, enhancing the ecosystem’s diversity. Since its establishment in 2003, Agh Gol National Park has played an important role in preserving this fragile environment and promoting biodiversity conservation in Azerbaijan.

Visitors are drawn by the park’s fresh air, peaceful surroundings, and opportunities to witness nature’s rhythms up close. The relatively flat landscape makes easy walking trails accessible, and the vibrant birdlife offers memorable sightings throughout the year. The nearby villages provide a glimpse of local cultural life and traditional land use, adding to the park’s appeal as a destination that combines nature with regional heritage.

The area’s clean and refreshing air has received high praise from visitors, making it a refreshing stop for those wanting a calm retreat from urban settings.
