The **Bavarian Forest National Park** is the first national park in Germany and was founded in 1970. It is located in the east of Bavaria, on the border with the Czech Republic, and covers an area of ​​around 24,000 hectares. The park is an important nature reserve and a retreat for many rare plant and animal species.
