These trails wind through a mix of dense northern hardwood forests and open meadowlands, presenting a chance to appreciate northern Wisconsin's native plant species and abundant wildlife in a quiet, natural environment. The area is especially known for its well-maintained, but lightly trafficked pathways that welcome everyone from dedicated hikers to casual walkers.

Key features include gently flowing creeks, scenic ridge overlooks, and rich wetland areas supporting diverse birdlife. The forest floor blooms with wildflowers during warmer months, while crisp autumn days turn the trails into a colorful retreat with vibrant red, orange, and gold leaves. The trail system also holds historical interest; some paths pass near remnants of early settler activity, offering a subtle glimpse into the region’s past.

Hiked the Pike Creek loop on 4/30/26. Several downed trees (from windstorm couple weeks ago). Had to climb over them to continue. Otherwise, easy hike in nice quiet setting.

We had a wonderful snowshoe here, it was too nasty out for others, so we had the forest to ourselves.
