🏔️We started at Artist Point, Chain Lakes Loop Trailhead around 1:30 p.m. and finished at about 7 p.m., making many stops along the way. The views were breathtaking at every turn, with clear alpine lakes and stunning mountain scenery. One of our favorite parts was the wild blueberries growing all along the trail. We stopped many times to pick and eat them, and they were so delicious, it made the hike even better! If you’re trying to decide which direction to hike, I recommend starting from the Heather Meadows visitor Center side, so you tackle the steepest climb while you’re still fresh, rather than facing it at the end of the day when you’re tired. We highly recommend this hike to anyone who loves incredible scenery!✨

Incredible hike, not so incredible parking. We went on a Sunday and it was insane when we arrived at 10:30 am and when we left at 4 pm. Just be smart about it when you go. Also bring hand sanitizer and maybe extra toilet paper for the bathrooms. They are in rough shape. A northwest pass is required! Service can be spotty so stop down below to get the pass or buy it online and either print it or write the receipt number down on paper. A lot of people at artist point were stressed about not having service for the QR code (which also requires the government app). We’ve done this hike twice and this time did it counterclockwise which I much prefer. It allows you to get the hard part over first when you still have more energy rather than having to climb back to the parking lot at the end. It also builds up the views better in my opinion. An amazing hike and the views are to die for. Everyone should make the trek up once (just maybe to on a weekday if you want a more relaxing experience).

Very very exposed, so it gets incredibly hot quickly. I would go on a more cloudy day. Otherwise, very nice hike. We went around mid august, and there were so many blueberries, very delicious.
