The trail is well-maintained but can be busy, so plan for an early start if you want solitude. My 2nd time on this trail (Im 62 hubby 66). They'd just gotten some snow recently so probably the 2nd mile to mile 1/2 was slushy but manageable. Such a beautiful hike though us old folks were pretty achy on the return! Plenty of polite dogs living their best life and their people out enjoying maybe the last 70⁰ day this season! Still some fall colors as well

Stunning hike! We hiked up the Green Lakes trail and circled back down Soda Creek trail for a total of 13.5 miles. Bring bug spray, sunblock and plenty of water! You will need the wilderness rec passes for this hike. Views of Bachelor, South Sister and Broken Top are amazing, wild flowers were incredibly beautiful, trail follows the river with falls along the way. *Warning! There were some risky river crossings and several downed trees along the Soda Creek trail which led you off trail. It was truly an exceptional hike!
