Very dog friendly. Trails are well maintained, though they can get a little mucky. The scenic viewpoints and abundant water features are absolutely stunning. (Saw 4 lakes in less than an hour driving.) Outhouse is what you'd expect from remote forest locations. Even so, they could probably clear the spider webs a bit more frequently. (My arachnophobic kids refused to enter)
