We almost skipped this hike and the Blue Helen Falls. We are glad we didn't. The hike has a lot of steps, but on a dry day, it was not difficult. It took myself and two daughters only 35 minutes to make it to the Falls from the Boston Visitor Center with one short stop for rest. We enjoyed these falls more than the Brandywine Falls as we were able to go down below the falls and play in the water a bit. If you have kids, definitely try this hike and check our the Blue Hen Falls.

Have to say it's a bit disappointed in the Blue Hen Falls: so little water in early August 2026. The hike to the Falls is a bit challenged, several large elevation changes with loose rocks and exposed roots. Serious hiking boots recommended.

Definitely one for the books. The first half is not for the faint. Major incline, lots of steps and gravel. The falls was nice, not enough rain but I found my way down and enjoyed it close up. Great adventure and really beautiful!
