A very wonderful, fairly well marked trail that alternates between double wide concrete and short lengths of unpaved. All road crossings are managed through tunnels. Signs with locations and distances are fairly robust. Some areas of the trail are very dark (not lit at all); other areas pass around commercial areas (with lots of light) or residential areas. The residential areas back up to the trail, and provides the surprise of an unexpected dog behind a fence (which runs up to the fence barking.).

I parked at and rode from Louisville Community Park about 5 miles to the east along Coal Creek Trail. The trail had some spots with snow and a little mud but all in all it was gorgeous and definitely recommended. The trail crosses a couple roads, but is mainly disconnected from anywhere cars go and connects to another trail that heads north towards Erie or closer into Lafayette. Highly recommended, and I'll be returning for a run!
