Discovery Falls in Canton, North Carolina, offers a captivating hiking experience with its scenic beauty and tranquil surroundings. The trail provides a moderate challenge, winding through lush forests and leading to a stunning waterfall. The cascading waters create a serene atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for nature enthusiasts. Don't forget your camera to capture the picturesque views along the way. Amazing waterfall, but hard to access as the trail is not clear enough. As well there where no sign indicating any direction nor any Trail Blazers. But I still highly recommend visiting this waterfall if you can manage to find it using gps.

Amazing waterfall with quite the wonderful climb to see it!!!

My wife and I discovered Discovery Falls of Forest Service Road, FR475B which is located Western NC in Haywood County in the Pisgah National Forest. This one road leads to at least 4 obtainable waterfalls, including Discovery Falls, a 75 foot waterfall along a jagged rock face. The hike to Discovery Falls begins at the trailhead for Seniard Ridge trail, also called FR5043 right by the small parking area.   You'll pass by the gates, and follow the wide Forest Service Road down for around a quarter mile. You'll reach your first wooden bridge which crosses over a stream. Don't cross over the bridge or you'll miss the trail. Just before the bridge and to the right is a small trail.  Follow this trail for about .25 miles up to the Falls.  The trail is considered easy until the very last section. Just prior to reaching falls, where it gets steep.  The trail a pretty good trail though and easy to follow. While tall, this isn't an exceptionally beautiful waterfall compared to some I've seen, especially when the creek flow is low. Visiting this waterfall shortly after a heavy rain is better if you can as the water flow is higher. We were lucky that there had been substantial rain the day before we visited. The waterfall is somewhat difficult to photograph but crossing over the stream, and taking the shot from the left side is an option. I don't recommend this though unless you have proper hiking boots due to the slick rocks. There are 3 waterfalls along this trail.  Discovery Falls is the first of three, that are very easy to see.  In fact the next two, are visible from the trail: Log Hollow Falls; Upper Log Hollow Falls and Logging Road Falls. We visited all of them and I'll try to review them too. 😀
