A nice hike with stunning views. We went in early spring, and although many people were wearing simple sports sneakers, I recommend more traction, at least at this time of year. Farther along the trail things get slippery. The open side of the trail can have some pretty shear drops. So yes, it's easy, but shoes with some tread will make the day more enjoyable.

A beautiful and easy trail. Wahclella Falls is the perfect destination for families new to hiking and locals who bring visitors from out of town to experience the Columbia Gorge up close. The two mile round trip hike has a fairly easy grade, follows Tanner Creek the entire time and, a small loop at the end enables you to see different views of the waterfall. At the beginning of the trail, kids will love crossing the bridge directly in front of Munra Falls and exploring a 70 foot long cave near the trail’s end at Wahclella Falls. Of special interest are the huge boulders that have rolled into Tanner Creek just before the falls. They are the result of a gigantic cliff collapse that occurred back in 1973.
