Waterfall Wonder: Detian Transnational Waterfalls

To witness the majestic beauty of Duc Thien Waterfall – a natural heritage site located on the Vietnam-China border – visitors need to prepare some important documents. This is not only a necessary step to ensure your journey goes smoothly, but also a way to fully enjoy the magical beauty of the waterfall safely and legally. First, when traveling from the Vietnamese side of the scenic area to the Chinese side, you need a valid passport. Although a visa is not required, an entry and exit permit issued by the Socialist Republic of Vietnam is mandatory. At border checkpoints, you will present these documents to prove your identity and the purpose of your trip.

A river separates two countries. A very unique sight. Come and experience its special charm. Boarding a bamboo raft, you can clearly see the people on both banks. It gives you the illusion of escaping the crowds and wandering deep into the mountains. Just be careful not to cross it carelessly, or you might not be able to get back.

The Detian Waterfall on the China-Vietnam border, though not with a large volume of water, is quite spectacular. Taking a bamboo raft for a close-up view is fantastic! You can walk to the very top of the waterfall, where there are Zhuang ethnic bronze gong installations and a China-Vietnam street.
