Waterslides of Nature: Los Toboganes, Cochamó

Great destination! Enjoyed the open trail and peaceful outdoor atmosphere.

It's very pretty! It is a wonderful place. I do recommend booking within a campsite since doing a 24km trek in one day is super killer.

It is beautiful but I DO NOT recommend going during the day. The trekking is extremely exhausting, it is better to stay at least one night to be able to rest and go down well, otherwise the return trip will be quite painful. The road is rocky, a lot of mud, little signage and it is very easy to get lost, especially on the way back. A lot of time is wasted in that. Be careful, there is no signal, if you don't drive, there is a business downstairs that gives Wi-Fi for 2,000 in case you need to contact someone to take you. That's a salvation, since walking out onto the road after 26 km is a no-brainer.

If you go for the day, try to carry as little weight as possible, as much as is necessary, perhaps without water at the beginning since there are streams with clean water further ahead where you can get water, also carry some type of anti-inflammatory in case of any pain or sprain that perhaps one never takes into account. Walking sticks are also important and shoes with good grip are essential, very nice the entire path is under shade almost the entire way. The last 20 minutes to the Slides are tiring since it is very steep up and down but that is worth it. The return trip is a little more confusing since there are not many belts but following the instructions you arrive (parking at the campsite the muleteer charges 5 thousand)

26k round trip trail, it becomes difficult because of the mud. It rained for us so it was even muddier. For this reason, it took us a long time, about 10 hours in total. The slides are beautiful, but I recommend doing it on a hot day to take a dip with enthusiasm. That day we went up it was very cold. Consider leaving early if you are going during the day, since they only allow entry until 9am. I recommend going and camping in La Junta or other campsites to take advantage of getting to know more and better.
