Beautiful for our wedding, but not worth the stress. My wife and I got married at the cathedral last month and my recommendation would be to save yourself the stress during wedding planning and look elsewhere for your ceremony. We were so extremely excited to get married at the cathedral with the mystique and the elegance that comes with that title. Our first meeting with the head priest should have raised a few flags as he came off as a little “better-than” and condescending. It made my wife feel unwelcomed. But, we decided to use a priest we have known forever from out of town, so we progressed. All of our emails/calls to the wedding coordinator were either unanswered or answered with unorganized and conflicting information. We also were not informed by anyone at the cathedral that they were having construction during our wedding. They never informed us of that information, but we just happened to find it on their website one day about 3 months out. We brought up our frustrations about the lack of communication and the construction and they did not take any accountability or ever apologize. We did get our wedding coordinators attention about a month or two out from our wedding and luckily the day went smoothly. The church itself in terms of beauty and the cantors/musicians I would give 5 stars. The wedding planning experience I would give 1 or 0 stars. The cathedral is beautiful, but if I had to do it over again I would save myself the stress and pick one of our other options that seemed very welcoming and communicative.

St. Joseph's Cathedral, a beautiful cathedral in downtown Columbus, Ohio. The cornerstone of this Gothic-style church was laid in 1866, and the first mass was celebrated on Christmas Day 1872. Much of the stone was quarried in Ohio, adding an Ohio "heart" to this magnificent building dedicated to St. Joseph. Note: Cell phones do not work under the huge stone churches.
