This was an exceptional Forest Service Campground! There are no electric sites, but each campsite is beautiful with plenty of room between parking spots. The restrooms (pit toilets) are immaculate and everything in the campground is way above average. The camp managers have been there for 9 camping seasons and take wonderful care of the place! We loved it here!!

I stayed at the campground for 3 nights in early August, 2025. The hosts are absolutely amazing, as were the views! As others have noted, the bugs were a bit of a bother, but nothing outrageous. The campground is spotless and the vault toilets are the nicest I've ever seen/experienced. The hosts go out of their way, using their own funds, to supply extras like painting the inside and adding little borders to the toilets, multiple hand sanitizers, etc.. :-) The campground is located just outside of Cooke City, MT and the northeast entrance to Yellowstone. There are lots of opportunities for hiking and fishing and backroad excursions.
