Visited for 4 days last week. What an incredible experience. Rooms were clean and large. Showers and toilets were very clean too. The food was delicious consistently. Our guide Ricardo really looked after us for the duration of the trip and was so passionate about the area. The boat ride to the centre opened up some beautiful views of the forest. We saw a large range of different bird species as well as several species of monkeys, a tapier (on the night cameras we set up) and a capybara enjoying a soak in the river. The whole site is one of the most relaxing places ive been to. The staff and the volunteers who were there were so friendly and it really was interesting to talk about their research projects and the reasons that brought them to Manu. It is worth the early morning get up to visit the clay lick and the visit to a nearby lake to whitness several incredible bird species too. It is worth remembering taking a head torch though as there is only electricity between a few hours in the evening (to charge up power banks etc) and to use the WiFi if needed. I definitely recommend visiting this beautiful place.

Thatch roof gone, fungus and mold on our window screens so you can barely see jungle from inside room, mold in bathroom and the worst part was the bed sheets smelled of moth balls which are considered carcinogenic in Canada. MLC coordinator didn't seemed concerned whether our needs were being met or not. Ive stayed in other jungle lodges that were 100% better. This place needs a lot of maintenance and a MLC coordinator who cares about guest experience.

My family and I had an incredible time on our 4D/3N visit. If you truly want to experience the jungle, go there! Our guide was beyond fantastic and the staff was wonderful (and so was the food!). Accomodations are rustic, but still really nice and a very unique experience. Bring bug spray, hats, flashlights, refillable water bottles, lightweight long-sleeve shirts and pants, slip-on shoes to go from your room to the dining area, and be prepared for just a couple of hours of electricity a day, and you're set. Such an awesome place!
