It was a very beautiful place. The trail itself wasn't too difficult, but there were some steep sections. The only drawback was the limited parking at the trailhead. Custer State Park has an entrance fee of $25, and for some reason, they only accepted cash payments when I went.

Absolutely gorgeous! When paired with Little Devils Tower it makes for a great afternoon of hiking. We did Little Devils Tower and then realized there was a fork In the trail we could take to get us to the Spires. Having hiking boots or sticks would have been helpful for part of the trail because there were some gravel spots that were slippery. I did end up slipping on one of the spots.

After Hiking Little Devil's Tower and the temp climbing fast, I only completed a portion of this trail. It is ALL uphill. Be prepared for that. There is a lot of shade and this trail had a lot more traffic on it then Little Devil's tower. Also, people INSIST on bringing their dogs (which bugs me to no end) so if dogs arent your thing, you will be stepping off the trail frequently. (PS LEAVE YOUR DOG AT HOME)
