Waterfall and Forest Hiking at Keshequa Creek Falls Trailhead

Great trail! Some beautiful old-growth hardwoods and lots of wildlife. Saw 10 snakes on our hike!

Potholes potholes and more potholes unless you have a truck with a 6 foot lift kit do not attempt to even go down that road there is a seasonal limited sign that’s so faded, Jesus would have not been able to read it speaking of if you decide to ignore this make sure your will is in order cause youll definitely meet him if you are not in a lifted truck the potholes were deep enough I saw advertisements for 4 bed 4 bath housing in a few of them wouldn’t recommend this place.

One of the absolute worst experiences I’ve had. There are no parking areas and the entire road is filled with deep, and I mean deep potholes. Not at all suitable for cars. There are no signs and I only seen one turn-around spot at the very beginning of the entrance. I didn’t even stay to walk the trails. I do not recommend.

Wet, wild, and a wee bit tricky. This trail takes some getting to, but the surrounding area is extra charming and the trail lots of fun. To get to this state park you have to go down a very rough, one way, dirt road that is dark and winding. When you reach the trailhead there are campsites and a portable outhouse, but that is about all The trail is a tad muddy and buggy, but the hike along the water is very serene. Because you can orient to the water, this out and back trail is not hard to figure out. Although it has no blazes I could see, the paths are fairly well worn. To reach the waterfalls and more remote campsites, you take little detours down to the water. The riverbed is most shallow and lined with shale, so it is fun to carefully explore around the petite waterfalls. There are a few hazards on this trail to be aware of if you set out to hike it. First, there is a section of the trail in the middle where it is eroding along the water's edge. That is somewhere you need to watch your step because the dropoff is steep and the trail right on the edge. The second hazard is simply going past the end of the trail and onto private property. I could not find any end of trail signs, but I did find private property signs posted, which is how I knew to turn around Basically, if the trail starts to look like an access road, you've gone too far, left the park, and need to reverse. A third thing to keep in mind is this is muddy on nice days and extra muddy on wet ones. I would plan to get a little dirty on the hike. I would also bring lots of bug repellent. The last thing I will warn you about is the hill... Starting this trail you feel like a super hero, sprinting down a steep hill with gravity doing most of the work. Beware though... There is mud at the bottom of the hill and on the way back, this hike ends with a long steep climb. I really enjoyed this trail and hope to get back soon. It's a really fun and interesting place to spend some time.
