An island about 30 minutes on a boat from Dar. Good as a day trip activity. It cost Tsh 30,000 for the boat and Tsh 17,000 for the marine reserve. There are several boats leaving from Slipway. On the official page it says between 9am-1130am but I think it’s possible to leave even a little later if you get many people. The boat ride is good with clear turquoise waters. When you get to the island, you get your tickets checked then, if you want, pay Tsh 5000 for a sun bed(not the most comfortable) and Tsh 5000 for an umbrella and place your food orders. The ocean is nice to swim in. You can carry your own snorkeling equipment and snorkel by the beach. If you want to go snorkeling in the deep, make sure to inform the staff early because the boat that goes to fetch food from the fishermen nearby is the same one to take you for snorkeling. They require a minimum of 2 people for snorkeling, the boat is paid for. There is snorkeling equipment for hire as well. Tsh 5000 for each item: goggles, flippers. Food is pretty simple but you are guaranteed of getting the freshest seafood. There are hiking trails as well.
