4/13/25: Trail is covered in snow. Snow depth varies from ankle to knee deep. I didn’t hike the trail very far, but the contrast of the snow with the flowing Savage river is beautiful.

Hiked 9/24/24 More like a walk than a hike. Almost no elevation. Easy loop along the river. Could get windy. No shade but that was fine because it was actually a cloudy day for us! Non-flushable toilets at the beginning of trail Limited parking

short easy hike. became more crowded as it became late morning so definitely come early. icy and rocky. saw many ptarmigans.
