7-16-24 Hiked/walked on the date above. The official trailhead is on Parks Highway in a large lot. The trail can also be accessed from the southernmost end of the Triple Lakes Trail at a bridge that runs over the Nenana River near the Denali Grizzly Bear/Denali Park Village. The trail is a lollipop loop. AllTrails puts this at 1.5 miles, and the signage has it the same length. I would consider this an easy trail with little to no elevation gain. Expect a wide, well-formed trail that is mostly small gravel or dirt. The trail has excellent views of the Nenana River, several boardwalks, with mostly a spruce canopy. We thought this trail was scenic and great for a quick hike and a decent taste of what Alaska hiking, in this part of Alaska, looks like in general. We really enjoyed the views of the Nenana River, with spruce and mountain scenery. Beautiful. Did see several rafters on the river. There are signs for wildlife, but we didn't see any on the date above. We encountered several folks of all ages, probably due to its easiness, scenery, and ease of access from Denali Park Village/Denali Grizzly Bear. It really is a good opportunity for a quick hike within Denali Park. The trail has both the Nenana River Tail and the Triple Lakes Trail as options off of it should you want to continue your hike. Excellent.
