Absolutely stunning 🤩 If you gonna do only one hike in Patagonia DO THIS ONE ☝🏻 We did the hike on 5th of September- clear blue sky. I was worried about weather and conditions as it was still winter but weather was absolutely perfect and it was not cold. We parked the car at the bottom of the trail and we didn’t pay any fee as there was none ( I guess because it’s winter) We started the hike at 4am and it took us 4h to get to the top just before sunrise ( which was at 8:20am) and the way back was about 3.5h The lake was frozen, but the snow looked very nice on the mountain so we took so many photos 📸 There were other people hiking too- everyone had crampons, sticks and head lights We rented crampons and hiking sticks and we only used them at the last steep section, good that we had them because it was icy

I can't add anything you haven't already read or heard. It's a beautiful place. It's tough to get there and tough to get back, but it's doable. I went with my 58-year-old mother, who doesn't exercise, and we arrived just fine; it took about 8.5 hours in total. Trekking poles are essential because there are a lot of loose rocks on the steep final section, and they also help distribute your weight, because at a certain point your legs just give out. I don't know if I'd do it again, but it's a must-do at least once in your life. You have to be prepared for a 5-hour uphill hike and to encounter mostly foreigners, and that's about it.

My boyfriend and I went to see the sunrise in March 2026, and it was a beautiful, incredible, and truly unique experience. 😍❤️‍🩹✨ The trail is in pretty good condition, and if you take it easy, it's not too difficult. However, when you reach what would be the last kilometer, things change: it's quite steep and demanding. If you go in the early morning and there's ice, it can be dangerous, so I highly recommend wearing good shoes, especially hiking or trekking boots. It's extremely cold up there 🥶, so if you're going to see the sunrise, it's best to dress in layers and, if possible, bring waterproof and thermal clothing. I also recommend Merino wool socks and, if you have them, thermal blankets to wear while waiting for sunrise. The weather is a very important factor. It can change drastically regardless of the time of year, so before you leave, check the forecast and trail conditions carefully. Trekking poles are also incredibly helpful, especially on the steeper sections or if there's ice. We trained before going, so it wasn't too physically demanding, but there were still some pretty challenging parts. My advice is to go prepared and not carry too much, because your body will pay the price later 😅. Bring water, some energy bars or snacks, sunscreen, and a hat. ☀️💧 And something very important: please take all your trash with you and let's take care of the place so that others can enjoy it too. 🌱❤️ Anyway, I hope you have a wonderful experience. For us, it was unforgettable and definitely worth the effort. 🩷✨ Here are some photos of our experience. 📸😍
