This is a place you really can't see in Korea. I went around January 10th... The weather at the bottom of the mountain was good enough to walk around in a thin padded jacket. The crater area is at the summit, so the altitude is quite high. I seriously thought I was going to freeze to death... Even if the weather at the bottom has warmed up, it is really cold at the summit, so a padded jacket, gloves, and a mask are essential. If you are not going to the Volcano Museum, pay the one-way fare instead of the one-day pass. That is cheaper.

There's a horse rental service available, a 5-minute ride costs 1500 yen. It's a bit expensive, but fun! 🤩 Climbing to the summit takes about 30 minutes, so you should bring water and a jacket, as it can still get a little chilly at the top even in summer 🥶 Reaching the summit, though tiring, is a truly worthwhile experience.
