I took my 3 boys up the trail to eagle cap summit. It is an amazingly beautiful area. Make sure your cardio is good before you go, or you won't make it the first two miles.

We did the East Fork Lostine trail up to the Lake Basin and Eagle Cap Mountain. Loved it. The Lake Basin was great to setup camp, we choose Mirror Lake. Hiked up and down from Eagle Cap one day. We fished Mocassin Lake one day and caught 5 Brook Trout (no fish what so ever in Mirror Lake). Overall trails are in good shape, rugged in spots but well posted and maintained. Lots of people on Labor Day weekend
