Great destination! Enjoyed the open trail and peaceful outdoor atmosphere.

Stayed here over night and it was amazing. Free camping... on the river. You have to go to experience it yourself.. Excellent drop point for the river to get out at the sand bar. Only thing I disliked was people placed their stuff on a spot but didn't even show up. But hey, there were other open spots, so all is well. Thanks again to the parks.

Beautiful and peaceful.

This place is free so I can't give it any less then 5 stars for that reason alone. The cites themselves are a good size for 2-4 people, anymore then that and you'd be pretty crowded. Bathroom situation isn't great. Pit toilets with no showers or sinks. Sites are primitive, no electricity or water on site. Lovely location right on the water is hard to beat. There is a train bridge right down stream that is very much still in use, you will hear trains passing through the night. There is no reservations so spots fill up quick. I stayed here on a weekday and all spots were filled by 5pm. 70% of spots opened up again by 9am. Arrive early especially on weekends. I saw people with vans and trailers but overall this is definitely a tent camp ground and not an RV ground, they would have a hard time fitting in most spots. There was no cell service in the park. I use Mobile and I takes about 10-15 minutes of driving away from 5he campground before I got service again. Most of the spots are drive up, with some walk in sites that are right on the beach of the river. All in all definitely a location I would stay again.

No cell service as you are in the canyon. Access requires you cross a narrow single lane bridge and navigate gravel roads. I would not recommend a larger RV make this trip. I did so in my van and things felt tight. Only a handful of camp sites. Trash cans and picnic tables provided. You will hear the train at night.
